The second meeting of the Committee for Monitoring of the Construction of Struma Motorway took place on July 2, 2013. Participants in the meeting were representatives of Transparency International – Bulgaria, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, The Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Finance and National Company “Strategic Infrastructure Projects”.

 

During the meeting was announced information about the progress of work on Lot 1, as well as information about the implementation phase of the design and construction of Lot 2. The representatives of Road Infrastructure Agency informed that the construction work on Lot 1 will be completed as scheduled by 30 August, 2013.

 

The representatives of Transparency International – Bulgaria inquired about the current phase of implementation of the contract on the design and construction of Lot 2 between the Road Infrastructure Agency and the selected contractor. It became known that at the time, the contractor is working on the technical plan of the infrastructure project. After completion of the plan the contractor expects to obtain the necessary building permits and start construction work by the autumn of 2013.
